Kairos Prison Ministry
The mission of Kairos Prison Ministry is
to share the transforming love and
forgiveness of Jesus Christ to impact the hearts and lives of incarcerated men, women and youth, as well as their families, to become loving and productive citizens of their communities.
The Kairos Inside program goal is to build a continuing Christian community inside the institution through Prayer and Share accountability groups, and monthly Reunions organized by Kairos Graduates and volunteers. The initial weekends, held in both male and female institutions, are 3½ days based on a series of talks, discussions, chapel meditations, and music.
How Can I Help?
1. Be a Team Member -Volunteers share a desire to follow Christ's admonition of Matthew 25:36, "I was in prison and you visited me."
2. Be a Prayer Partner - All Kairos Ministry activities are covered with prayer. You can volunteer to be a part of that effort. Visit our Prayer page for more information.
3. Be a Ministry Financial Donor - All Kairos activities are funded by donations. To make a donation online you can visit:
www.kairosprisonministry.org or you can mail your check to Kairos Prison Ministry-Maryland, P.O. Box 793, Jessup, Maryland 20794 OR make your check out to “Kairos Prison Ministry-Maryland” and put it in the offering plate or send it to St. Andrews UMC, 1020 Maryland Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
4. Be a Support Volunteer - Each weekend there are opportunities for outside support, such as paying for meals and baked cookies ($200), or creating artwork (agape).
Each Kairos weekend costs about $8,000 at no cost to the prison or individuals. Your donation allows us to share the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ with more incarcerated men and women.
Brother Ed Young and I are teaming up with Kairos Prison Ministry to take a spiritual retreat to MCI-Jessup the weekend of April 25-28, 2024. Please support this effort and mission.
Thank you, Pastor Chris
